As a temporary workaround to get a secure and up-to-date browser working you could consider installing the unofficial Firefox portable Fx24 as an additional browser. The bluetooth driver is what broke (which is part of the Centrino wireless). I ended up installing the latest driver from Intel, updating Windows then updating Firefox...all is well.
