Dating epiphone bass guitar serial number made in korea
Great acoustically and i swapped out the stock pickup. It looks a lot like the basic shape of the Joe Pass model. Others think that Epi quality now is at least the same if not better, compared to those MIK guitars.
Sounds very nice, but the tone and looks of an L5 is what I've become very interested in. There's no serial number on it and the seller didn't know much about the guitar, but he said he had been told that it was probably an 80's model made in Japan It reminds me of a Cort/Tanglewood Yorktown. So with all your info I think mine is an 85 Korean. IMO something around 400$ (maybe up to 450$) would be a fair price.
So anything in that profile really gets me jealous, haha! According to the guitar dater website my epiphone emperor regent asb serial number 5093433 is made in Korea in '85.
I thought it looked a bit different than other Japanese Emperors I've seen pictures of, but I bought it anyway since I thought it was nice to play on and it has a great tone. The style of the script on the logo and the shape of the headstock don't look like any of the Japanese made Epiphones I've seen. There's no serial number on it and the seller didn't know much about the guitar, but he said he had been told that it was probably an 80's model made in Japan (judging from the thruss rod cover). For example the tailpiece and bridge looks different, but they could have been changed obviously. It looks a lot like the basic shape of the Joe Pass model. John My EX DC begins R05 and the label says "Made in Incheon" FWIW. This is an interesting page on Samick serial numbers: Serial Number | Samick Wikia | FANDOM powered by Wikia Elseswhere on that site it says that the Samick guitar factory in Incheon was bought by former Samick employees who formed a company called SPG. My D'Angelico is EXL-1 (Excel Series) fyi I've read here (one of the thread here, i forgot the title) that wrote US probably means Unsung. I'm not certain it's correct (the guy could just be MSU), but it seems pretty plausible to me. i thought unsung was in Korea then I googled it and many wrote Unsung is in China. If S in my serial number refers to SPG, what does the "U" refer to? I just got a response for mine, which is a US-6432, Premier DC, and I was told it was built in Indonesia on 2017. I bought it used in Bologna, Italy, and brought it to Montevideo, Uruguay.
